Last year I read Elizabeth Dentlinger's post on using Elf on the Shelf as a way to deliver comprehensible input to her classes. It was such a good idea that I couldn't wait to do it in my classroom the following year.

The Iowa World Language Association's annual conference #iwla16 is about a week away. I can think of no other organization that has helped me through the years to become a better educator. Now, as it is beginning to sink in that I am about to become the President of this organization that has done so much for me, I thought I'd share how IWLA has helped me to become the WL educator that I am today.

On Tuesday I posted on how I took the deskless plunge this year. Wow! It has been read by almost 2,000 people so far! That's a lot for me. One question that kept coming up though was "How do they write?" In this post I'd like to address that.

Inspired by Laura Catherine's Señora Shares blog post, I began a Café y Conversación time in my Spanish 3 and 4 classes. I know that there are other teachers out there who do something similar as well. While I only have two Café y Conversaciónes under my belt, and I feel like I am still refining it to work for my context; here's what I've got so far. I'd love to hear your comments, questions, and suggestions.
